First up was working on the bird's feet... I traced my paper pattern on a medium weight stabilizer that I backed with a tear away paper ( which I probably didn't need). This first pic is after I went around and stitched over my outline three times and trying to add some shadow.
Here, I'm adding the lightest of the three threads... after I finished with that thread, I went back and filled in spaces here and there with the medium brown.

A couple of hours later, the binding, label and hanging sleeve are stitched on along with the bird's legs/feet.
This is the back....
All that's left to do is hand stitch the leaves and a few of the flower petals down.
Dinner is over - time to go clean the kitchen up a little bit before Buddy starts whining that it's bedtime.
take care....
ttyl.....

Not sure why I didn't do this sooner, but I just went and found you on Bloglovin so I could follow you there! I love your bird project! It turned out just great! I haven't tried something like that yet, but would really like to.
ReplyDeleteOOO! I have an admitted follower! which is nothing like a stalker ( trust me, I know the difference lol). How fun! I didn't do the bird quilt exactly the way she demonstrated it, but it was close enough for me. I'm not sure if I'd want to do it again or not... have so many others on my timeline that is getting shorter by the day :(.
