Just a quick post

Finished this top last night... it's the string 3D quilt for Siren that I want to enter into our guild's quilt show later this month.   LOVE it but don't think I'll be rushing to make it again.    Two of the string blocks are facing opposite way from the others, but I'm not going back to fix them - it is what it is... now I have to decide how I want to quilt it... hmmm, now that I look at it in the pic, I'm starting to form an idea.  We'll see how it comes out.

In the meantime, I pulled out my UFO Challenge for this month ( #12 on  allpeoplequilt.com).
I was really dreading it, which is why I put it at the very bottom of the list... thought I had LOTS left to do...
well, that's true, but not as much as I thought.  The blocks are sewn into rows and some of the rows are even joined by sashing.

I just need to finish sewing the rows together and then I can start on the "grumble mumble" 1/2 square triangles for the inner borders... followed by the applique' and the final 1/2 square triangle border.
I started this with using some of the fabrics that I had 'inherited' from a cousin when she passed away;  I've had to add in some of my own fabrics - mainly the muslin for the sashing and background.  Because some of the fabrics are not the best quality, it's definitely not going to be classified as an 'heirloom' but my plan was/is to gift the quilt to her younger sister, who I hope will appreciate it..

Ok... back to work...

Wooohooo!!!  Look what I just found in the project bin!
I  haven't counted them yet, but hoping there's enough for the inner border.
Oh yeah...heres the rows sewn together.
ok back to work 🤗

What to work on next

I finished the two gift quilts - and both have been delivered to a parent of the little girl recipient. I have the requested photo from one...
