Wow! It's Wednesday already...

I don't know where Tuesday went... I THOUGHT I did some sewing, but if I did, I failed to take photos and haven't the foggiest memory of what I worked on.  I do remember searching for a specific fat quarter bundle - to no avail.  But when I went searching again this morning, I happened upon some half square triangle blocks that I have no memory of making.  I recognize the fabrics - just don't remember putting them into these blocks.  There was also about a 2 yd length of the solid 'tan' fabric with them.

Since I wasn't having any luck finding the MIA fq bundle, I decided I'd just go ahead and see what I could do with these newly 'rediscovered' blocks.

This is what I ended up with......  it's smallish... about 40" x 40".. enough for a lap or baby quilt.

While I am working on these blocks and talking on the phone with my friend in New Hampshire, I'm telling her about the missing fq bundle and how I have searched all over the house for it... and what caused me to go looking for it.  It's a red and off white print bundle with a 2/3 yd panel and it's been around my sewing room getting pushed aside for the longest time.  I did take one fat quarter out to use as backing for one of my Project Quilting, but had no idea where the rest went.

The reason I was 'hell bent' on finding this particular bundle is because I realized yesterday that I have the same identical bundle in black and off white print - along with the 2/3 yd panel.  I figured if I could find the red one, I could cut out the blocks from both panels and make them into a quilt top....
Anyway, as I am telling all this to my friend, I was telling her that I was going to look into my big tub of red and pink fabrics ( anything more than a fq  but less than a yard goes in there) again.  I had looked in it yesterday, but, just in case, I'd look again.  After moving several fabrics around, lo and behold, I found the red bundle... all together ( except the fq I used) in a ziplock bag.

I finished my conversation with my friend and then finished the pinwheel quilt top, made binding and a label to go with it.  By then it was dinner time, so that's all that was done today.  Will I get the red and black quilt top done tomorrow?  Probably not ( grocery shopping in the morning), but both sets are in a ziplock bag together and sitting right next to my machine so that when I'm ready, I can get started.

All the searching I did yesterday and this morning taught me that I have wayyyyyyyy too much fabric ( said no quilter) and I really have to step up my game and get more quilts finished.  Silly thing is, more fabric arrived in the mail yesterday and today... and I have a kit that should be arriving any day now.  The fabrics were 'stash enhancers' and on sale... the kit was from Connecting Threads and was just too good a deal to turn down... lap size quilt, I think, for less than $40 and that includes the pattern.

Anyway... time to call it a night here.......

take care....
STAY SAFE....

What to work on next

I finished the two gift quilts - and both have been delivered to a parent of the little girl recipient. I have the requested photo from one...
