It's one of those days...

Here's today's pair of All stars.  I can see the difference in the background on the one shoe, but I don't think it will be all that obvious once the quilt is quilted.  You know what - It is what it is.

Tried out my Baptist Fan 'ruler' last night... it's ok - definitely needs some practice before going on an actual quilt.  I measured the size of the 'fan' and it's only about 5".. the blocks I wanted to use it on are about 8" so I'm not sure it would work... then again, maybe it would if I used smaller fans for the last row, which would be the top row.--- still thinking about it. OR - I could make 4" fans and that should work; something to consider.

Washed the fabrics for the Quilt of Valor quilt... washed the red fabric with the blue and one color catcher... the color catcher came out a dark pink.  Washed the red by itself and used two color catchers... came out a pale pink.  Washed it a third time with THREE color catchers and it came out a medium pink - WTHeck!?!?  I gave up and tossed it in the dryer.  I don't know whether I should wash it a fourth time or not... think I'll wait and ask the gals at guild tomorrow night.

Guess I'll go practice the Baptist Fan some more - and maybe try some of the stitches that I watched WhirlsnSwirls on youtube.com last night.
