I had such good plans for today... don't think they're going to happen. Despite getting a pretty good night's sleep, I'm in need of a nap ( and it's not even noon!).
I did manage to get today's block done, but it took me twice as long - only because my tush is draggin'. It's the first picture - second pic is the pair together. That makes 3 pair down - 19 1/2 to go.
I did get quite a few blocks assembled for my Goodnight Irene done last night; I think I have something like 11 left to make for this part (2 of 3) of the pattern. Still no pics since my design wall is small and I don't feel like taking the shoe blocks down so that I can put Goodnight Irene up - which means my first pic of the project might not get taken until after I get the top together. Oh well.
I'd like to get started on my Quilt of Honor for the gal in Mississippi next week - which means I have to finish either the All stars (shoes) blocks or Goodnight Irene tops. I told her that I would start on it this month... I picked a simple pattern - BQ2 and have already decided on a quilting design... Mariner's Compass in the blue blocks and 'waves' in the red strips ( with white in between - or maybe it's the other way around).
I also have 'bowl cozies' that I told someone that I would make for them.
It's only the first week of the new year and I'm already feeling a little overwhelmed with all that I want to accomplish this year.... actually, just in the next couple of months - then I'll set new goals.
Because so much is going on, it looks like I should forget about making a quilt to enter into the AQS Grand Rapids show this year...I will work on it this summer, though, so that it will be ready to enter in 2017.
I'm planning on doing at least two BOMs this year.... one with the local quilt shop; I think I mentioned it the other day... Amish with a Twist, and the other one is online with Sindy at www.fatcatpatterns.com. The one with Sindy is one that I did with three quilt guild friends a couple of years ago as a 'gift' for under our guild's entry for the Festival of Trees. It's so cute and I knew I was going to make myself one 'someday' - here's my chance. I already have the pattern so I can work on it as I want - once I get the background fabric, that is.
Ok, enough chatter....back to 'something'
TTYL
finished the shoe on the right after guild meeting tonight. Four pair done now :)
