Short post today

This is the weekend that I have to clean my kitchen.. sigh .. so there won't be much in the way of quilting done.

I was cleaning off the pile of fabrics next to the freezer yesterday and cutting scraps into either 2" or 2 1/2" squares for scrap quilts ( and strings for other quilts) when it dawned on me that I could use some of those scraps on the high top sneaker quilt that I've been wanting to do for ages.

This was the one I did last night... so stinkin' cute!!  The print is made with scraps from the reversible apron I made for one of my 'adopted' granddaughters.
I figure if I can do one a day, it won't seem so overwhelming and I'll still be able to work on other quilts at the same time.  The pattern calls for 23 shoes and finishes at 52" x 59 1/2"... I think I'd like mine to be bigger, but we'll see.

Here's today's block.... made with scraps from my son's Amazing quilt that I gave him this past Christmas....

I was awake wayyyy too late last night and, as usual, woke up way too early.  There will be a nap in the plans today... probably within the next hour or so.  Then it's time to tackle the kitchen - just one step at a time... take care of clean dishes first ... then wash the dirty ones ( may get hubby to dry them for me lol)... tonight I'll soak the stove burner whatchacallits in plastic bags with ammonia, which is supposed to get them sparkling clean with little elbow grease - sure hope it's true!  This is getting BORING ( isn't talk about housework always that way??) so I'll just quit and say

TTYL

What to work on next

I finished the two gift quilts - and both have been delivered to a parent of the little girl recipient. I have the requested photo from one...
