WooHoo!! I quilted and finished two quilts today. Granted they are crib size, but Hey in my book, a finish is a finish no matter the size.
I had purchased 3 yards of the orange yesterday? and then worried if it would be enough. I knew one quilt was a bit larger than the other. Sewing the 3 yards in half along the selvage and then ripping across the fold guaranteed that I wouldnt have extra at the end of the seam which is what usually happens. Loading it with the remaining selvage along the rails was the best idea I could come up to make sure that I had a chance to quilt both of these quilts with the same backing.
I laid the larger one first... when I finished quilting it ( second photo), the backing seam was about two inches away. I knew then that I could load the smaller one and have enough backing not only for the second quilt but also for binding.
These are the only two photos I took since the quilts were offloaded from Mo'e. The binding is on both ( with still more fabric leftover) along with the labels.
Oh, and I did some searching online earlier for the Woodland Hideaway... I must have purchased it from Quilt in a Day because that's where I found it - marked down from $30 to $9 and change - and they still have some if anyone is interested.
Tomorrow, I hope to make two pillowcases for a project the church who allows our guild to meet in their annex. The other day I found kids' pjs (with footie slipper/sox) for $7 at Walmart and bought three pair ( they go with the project, too) and I already have one pillowcase made.
Speaking of which, I'd better scoot... I want to find the directions for the hotdog style of making pillowcases. I know I have them here SOMEWHERE but it'll be easier just to find and print a new set.
take care.....
ttyl.......
