Short Weekend

The "BB" quilts have been delivered!

and they all appeared to love each one... they realized that each was made for that particular man yet also the group.

Today, I finished the puppy and kitty quilt....\

here's the back....

and a close up of the back where I  pieced a strip on ( they didn't end up like that on purpose )

I have some close up photos of some of the items I stitched into the borders, but because the fabric and the thread are both a pale yellow, the stitching is really had to see in the photos.  I stitched balls, toy mice, collar with tag that says Buddy on it, a leash, dog bones and balls of yarn.

I should have taken a close up of some of the paws.  The 'toes' are round buttons that I hand stitched on before I quilted and really didn't have too much problem stitching around each button 'toe' as long as I was paying attention.  Once in awhile a button would get hung up on the foot, but I was able to move it and lay it back down without a problem.  I had more problems with the backing and batting being so short on the sides, but even then, I managed.

On to the next quilt... the backing is pieced together and it's has one pin holding it to the leader on Mo'e.  I had to fix dinner and have been trying to call a friend in Canada - and now, I'm blogging.

It's another frog themed one for my youngest daughter and it's kind of a weird size... 50" across and 74" long... seems kinda narrow to me... I'm not sure why I did it that way.  I obviously don't have a photo of the top on the frame yet.... I'll get one tomorrow.

Oh, and I counted my tops waiting to be quilted - there are almost a dozen... I think I counted nine but I just remembered one that didn't get counted and there's at least two more sitting on the chair by Mo'e. - that makes a dozen, and there might be more that I forgot about.  Not all have backings yet... and I only have batting for one more (unless it's a queen or crib size) which I think one is Queen.

Somehow, I've got to squeeze in the beginnings of some t shirt quilts.  I may have to switch hubby's shirts around since he's lost so much weight; he can now fit back into the ones I packed away for quilts.

Now, I'm starting to ramble... time to call it a night and try to call my friend one more time.

take care...
ttyl....
