Monday through Wednesday morning

This was Monday's project that I thought was going to take a long time... working on it off and on during the day, it went faster than I thought it would.  The photo directly below shows what was left at the end of Monday... Just two rows of the 'arrows'/chevrons along with a sashing row and the border.  I finished the quilting yesterday (Tues.) morning and it's been trimmed, but I haven't decided what to use for binding so now it will just sit.

this is showing how I quilted the 'sashing'... I didn't do any quilting in the chevrons.. just a row of stitching on each side of each chevron and one right through the middle of each white strip.  Large piano key borders on top and bottom - or each side, depending on how you hold it.

After finishing the trimming, I took a short nap and when I woke up, there was a package sitting on my desk chair.  FedEx had delivered the backing fabric for the quilt below.

It's been pieced with the yard and a half I already had and loaded onto Mo'e along with the batting and the top.  Here it is with some basting - across the top and as far as I could go on each side without turning.  I've also stitched along the inside edge of the border.
It was about that time that I decided that I'd better quickly order some more magna Glide bobbins and another small cone of Glide rust.  I thought if I got the order in before closing yesterday, there was a chance that I could get my order by the weekend.  Shortly after I ordered though, QuiltedJoy ( my Glide supplier) came onto facebook and announced that they would be closed today due to the freezin' temps.  They're in Kentucky! - I didn't realize this frozen He** was spreading that far south.
I guess I can only hope that it was packed up and shipped out last night - I don't think it was, but a gal can hope.
Rust is not the only color I'll be using for this quilt, but it's going to be one of the major ones and I MIGHT have enough on the cone but I only have one full bobbin left.

Ok, I've stalled long enough... time to get my hinney out of this chair and do SOMETHING!

take care....
ttyl......

What to work on next

I finished the two gift quilts - and both have been delivered to a parent of the little girl recipient. I have the requested photo from one...
