Making Progress Monday

Yesterday, I decided that I would work on my partially finished BOM from Shabby Fabrics that I started a year or two ago... time flies, you know how it is.

I put the finished  blocks up on the wall ( well I'm done with the appliquing part - still need to trim to size) and proceeded to see what was left... just two blocks and borders.  I can do that.  Yesterday, I did block 8 - but didn't take a pic of it after I finished.

Last night, I did the tracing onto freezer for the pieces for this final block
and ironed the patterns onto the fabrics.  Then, this morning I glued everything down onto the background and still had time to do all of the appliquing before I had to take hubby to the doctor.

After his dr. appointment, we went to Walmart to pick up a script for me and I dropped him off at home before going to my appointment at the eye doctor for a post surgical check up.  She said it's still a little swollen but looks good.  I told her that I closed my right eye for a minute while driving to her office and was amazed at how well I could see with just my left eye - something that probably hasn't been possible for years.

It was about 4 when I got back home and so I stuck potpies in the oven for dinner and just relaxed.  Tomorrow, I can trim the blocks and then sew them into rows and hopefully have a completed quilt top by the end of the day.  I have a yard & a half of a pretty fall print that I stuck in with these BOMs, but it's obviously not going to be enough... I may have to go buy some fabric for the backing - I don't really have a lot of fall themed prints.  We'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

It's only 7:45 and Buddy is already bugging me to go to bed.. and I'm in agreement with him.  I have to be up early in the morning to take hubby over to the hospital for blood work ( something we forgot to do before today's appointment).

take care...

What to work on next

I finished the two gift quilts - and both have been delivered to a parent of the little girl recipient. I have the requested photo from one...
