Since I finished the last of the BB quilts and they are all ready to be gifted on Saturday ( weather report says SUNNY - yay! IF it stays that way). Ok, where was I - oh yeah, at loose ends ... so I decided to pull out some of the completed tops that had been moved to the 'fabric stash/storage' room after spending time on Moe's table. The first one I pulled was this cute Troll print flimsy... not too large and nothing requiring custom quilting. I still left it over night while I tried to decide how to quilt it. At one point, I thought I'd just 'write' TROLLS all over the place with some loops or circles in between. I nixed that idea and just went with the loops and circles all over. Seven rows down and six across... it didn't take much time at all.
Look who was taking a nap on the excess batting..... that black 'blob' is Chewy. Here he is again... just looking out the window. He's a good boy most of the time... just make sure that you have his meals ready on time.

After I finished quilting the Trolls quilt, it went right into my sewing room to be trimmed/squared up and binding & label sewn on. This one will go to one of our great granddaughters in Texas for probably her birthday in the fall.
Once I finished with that, it was time to load another quilt on. I thought I was going to work on the latest frog quilt for my youngest daughter, but then I saw this one and said "Yes!" I already had the lemon yellow thread on Mo'e. ( I did change the needle, though). The backing is a hodge podge of every cat and or dog print that I had, I think. I'll have to show you later since it's already loaded and I've done some stitching.
Then this morning, this popped up on my Facebook via quilting digest, I believe. Oh crimeney! Never mind... I forgot who the designer of the block was... but then I remembered... Lori Holt.
Anyway, I had time before I had to take hubby to another dr. appt. and so I started working on it... it went pretty fast... just a little over an hour, I think. It makes a 16" block which they said could be used for table topper or wall hanging. I think I'm going to make mine into a doll quilt. Because the 2.5" squares are what I would call 'civil war' era, I don't have anything that would work for binding.... except for the remaining squares and there should be enough to sew end to end for binding. I have some off white print that I can use for the backing.
By the time we headed back to town from the dr's office and I stopped and retrieved my domestic machine from the 'spa', I then had to stop at the credit union and get some cash for this weekend and for spending money for hubby. Then it was over to Walmart for groceries and script. We didn't buy a lot this week, but what I had to lug into the house was enough to wear me out.
Hopefully, tomorrow I'll feel more like working on the puppy and kitten quilt. It's not a large one ( something like 60"x 60" if that) but it's one that's going to require something more than loops and circles. I have a couple of ideas for the borders but not sure about the inside.
Eight pm and hubby is heading to bed and I think I'm ready, too.
Take care....
ttyl
