Monday Update

I quilted another doll quilt over the weekend, but didn't get around to trimming and binding before my cataract surgery yesterday.  I made it through ok but it was a L O N G day; thank goodness I had my cousin, Cathy, with me to chat about this and that so that I didn't dwell on the upcoming procedure TOO MUCH.  I had to be there TWO hours before the procedure... I have no idea why...  the surgery itself takes 15 minutes ( the dr. told me that today) then he has to spend another 1/2 hour or so filling in blanks on the computer for a system that's not his usual one.

Today, Cathy came again and took me down to the eye doctor's for a check up.  They said everything looks fine and that I did very well yesterday and today.  The left lens was removed from my glasses because it was just throwing everything off for me (after they removed the eye patch).  Someone said that I will definitely need news glasses/lenses after the second surgery because the ones I have now will be too strong ( I was told that they are  a VERY very strong prescription).

Back to the reg. eye doctor next Monday and then just eye drops until next month's procedure.

In the meantime, not much is getting done other than sleeping, eating and a little tv.  I had to go buy a new tv on Sunday because the one in my bedroom died and I can't go to sleep without the background noise; Saturday night I had to bring my tablet in and set it on the nightstand while a couple of movies played.

This new tv has Roku - one of the reason I purchased that particular one - and it's taking a little bit of getting used to, but I'm liking it so far.  Infact, I've discovered the Youtubetv network and that has just about every sports channel that hubby could ever want and it's only $40 a month for up to six users or devices.  It can even remember your favorites.  We're paying $100. + a month for dish right now... seems silly.  The only thing I haven't been able to find on either Roku or Youtubetv is a free Hallmark movie channel ( but at $4.99 a month still not bad) nor can I find the channel that has the Alaska shows that I like - I'm going to keep looking.

Ok, well, I'm supposed to be resting my eyes so I probably shouldn't be on here; just wanted to catch up and get you 'in the know'.  No quilting for me until the sew in on Friday - not even sure I'll be able to then - it may just be lunch with the girls.

take care....

What to work on next

I finished the two gift quilts - and both have been delivered to a parent of the little girl recipient. I have the requested photo from one...
